A long time anchor building on Lexington's Main Street Corridor, the Shirey's on Main building stood vacant for years. As part of a revitalization of the downtown area, this historic building underwent a complete renovation, starting in late 2013. A new stair and elevator tower was constructed to provide controlled accessible access to the second floor, which was renovated to house a full floor office tenant. Careful interjections of contemporary materials help to offset the new construction from the rehabilitated materials. Original wood floor, exposed brick, and steel structure all combine with fresh colors and crisp materials throughout this renovation.
